Finishing Sentences

I am reading the book Supercommunicator from Charles Duhigg, a very excellent writer with his other book, the Power of Habits. In this book I am reading, he talks about people who can communicate easily with other people and good communication is when you are actually finishing each other sentences, at least in the mind. I’ve only heard that being talked about in movies so I was quite surprised that a serious book would say something like that.

However when I reflected about my work, I realised that some people whom I can easily work with, can actually finish my sentences. They don’t normally do it, because it would seem rude, but they can normally answer my questions or pick up my train of thoughts, when there is a pause in my speech. In writing too, inversely people whom have different opinions about doing things, will also have a hard time in me finishing or understanding their sentences (or is it because we don’t understand each other, that we have a hard time working together?). Either ways, communication affects performance.

I’ll continue reading the book and write my reflections here in the future.

Thank you for reading.

I once heard that if you were to bring a problem to your boss/superiors, you better have some solutions ready to propose. At least three solutions.
