Why Evil Exists

With the current state in Palestine where countless (more than 30,000 deaths) lives are lost, it is likely the question above surfaces. I don’t have an eloquent answer but this video answers it nicely, I think.

Some keypoints:

  1. Natural disaster vs moral evil
  2. Nothing falls a believer, without a ‘net benefit’.
  3. Ascribe trust to Allah, well above our understanding. Same as Allah’s answer to the malaikats.
  4. Nothing happens to me, without Allah allowing it.
  5. Generally, difficulties increase Iman. We make more dua in time of troubles.
  6. Pain that brings closer to Allah, is a blessing

Wisdom evils exist

  1. Motivation to become good, to come together
  2. Discern traitors from allies, know the munafiqun.
  3. Tyranny – makes us look forward to the Day of Judgement
  4. Small pain to save from a bigger pain – Musa and Khidir

A friend suggested that I join a professional course, which seems like a very good one, but requires a substantial amount of payment. Even if it didn’t cost anything, there’s still the time needed to be invested. So any way you see it, there’s always a cost to learn anything. I know I wrote previously…
