World Ending Apocalypse

My son came and ask whether the Apocalypse is real. What kind of apocalypse, I asked back, and he said something about zombie apocalypse. That’s too much Marvel, superhero and Minecraft for him. Anyways I said it depends on whom you ask the question but Muslims believe the world will come to an end, the Qiamah or Judgment day. No one knows when it is going to be, but most likely we will have our own end, i.e. death, before that day.

How about the end of the world in the sense of world war? News have been saying about this, and it is a bit hard to imagine that all the nations would drop the world into chaos right? It has only been a generation ago since the world has recovered from WW2. And with all the technological advancements and how the countries trade and the economies are tied together, who would want war? But then I was reminded of a movie about Eiffel Tower and in it the people were talking about the possibility of war. In it, most people were dismissing it, but as we all know, world war broke a few years after that (okay Eiffel completed in 1889 and WW1 was in 1914, so there was a 25 years gap). Then after WW1, people also said they were just rebuilding and there wouldn’t be a war but only three decades later, the WW2 started.

So, is the next apocalypse or world war coming soon? How about the Terminator apocalypse brought by the AI? Who knows.

Thank you for reading and apologies on the bleak post.

This sprang open this morning. It was like the two buds at the background, taking seemingly forever and suddenly it ‘burst’ open. Such a pleasant surprise. Two things I can takeaway from this: 1. It was the first time that I heard about the word proscription, and I thought it was related to people being pulled into the army, i.e. conscription. Apparently it is not. The formal definition is the action of forbidding something, or banning. The ‘pro’ in the word proscription made me think that it was something…

  • What Is Your Job?

Some people say it is rude or a bit intrusive to ask what a person does for a living. One reason I agree with is when the question then leads to asking how much that person earns, which I agree is private to him/her. Unless you are very close, question about salary seems sensitive. But…
