Should I Buy A…

I am thinking of taking a few professional exams this year, and I am deliberating about whether I should be improving my study by buying certain equipment. For example I argue with myself that I can’t read a pdf in my bed since I can’t bring my laptop, so I need to buy an Ipad. Or that I couldn’t open two documents and take notes at the same time since I don’t have enough screen, so I need to buy a bigger monitor. But a bigger monitor needs a more powerful PC (since it needs to be 4k, because you know, it is hard to read if it is only 1080p), so I might need to buy a new desktop PC…

And the list goes on. However I have been through this road before, especially when I was working and planning to take an exam in 2020. In the end, I didn’t even take the exam, but I did ‘waste’ money setting up equipment for it. In comparison, in 2022, while doing my Masters, I managed to write a thesis and passed the IRSE module A exams, by just using my current laptop without any fancy hardware or gadgets.

I like to think that the less equipment I have, the less distraction I’ll have. I just need to square my shoulder and move on forward. So, let’s do that.

The legal term is normally cease and desist. Autocorrect even suggested that. But I am thinking of the people who have passed away during the genocide. … in 5 years time? That’s the question that is normally asked in interviews, or something along the line. Whether it’s a 3-years, 5-years, or a decade long plan into the future, they all ask the same thing; to project or foretell the future. I was asked the question today during a discussion with my…

I like the feature in iCloud photos, where it reminds what happened on this day, year(s) ago. It showed some cute photos of your loved ones, or a trip you have forgotten about. It also reminded where you were a few years ago, not only in the literal sense, but also figuratively. For example it…

A scene in a movie used to be when someone is on a phone call and he wants to write something, he’ll grab a post-it and scribble on it. This is what comes to my mind whenever someone says ad-hoc, a form of temporary solution that is required urgently, and normally is not for a…
