Political Statement

My wife and I were watching a clip about a parliamentary session, where the politician gave a very vague statement, something like, “We do not condone bad behaviour.” My wife complained that the speaker didn’t answer the question. Of course he didn’t, he’s a politician. He gave a political statement that can be interpreted either ways. It’s giving commitment without being committed. It’s stating a disagreement without agreeing what is being agreed.

Anyways my two kids were complaining this morning about having to eat vegetables and being dramatic as they were, my son said the vegetables could kill him if he eat too much. I replied that what couldn’t kill him, will make him stronger. My daughter, his little sister, heard that and twisted the statement. “Did you hear that, brother?” she asked. “Chocolate doesn’t kill you so we eat chocolate! Chocolate will make us stronger!”

I am not saying the two incidents above are related but I am quite worried. 😓

Thank you for reading.

    Thank You, MRTC

MRTC stands for Mass Rapid Transit Corporation, a government linked company in Malaysia which I used to work since 2013 until 2021. Today marks the day that I started working there (and a decade of working there, if I had stayed). I spent 8 years working there, and although I have left the place for…

    Dinner and Dinner

It’s the end of the year or at leasts almost the end of the year so offices are having Christmas dinner, as well as schools. I went to my office’s dinner recently and felt that it was quite good actually. The food was okay but when I went back home, it occurred to me how…

  • The War of Eid

The title seems to allude to a real war, but really, it is just the different dates Muslim celebrate the date of Eid and marking the end of Ramadhan, together with the disputes it ensues. I’ve rarely experienced this because in Malaysia, there is only a single point of authority. A representative of the Kings’…

My eldest daughter was teaching her younger sister to read and was explaining it phoenitically. If you don’t know what phonics is, it is pronouncing the letters the way it sounds, not the way it is pronounced. Yeah my explanation sucks. For example you pronounce the letter ‘s’ not ‘ass’, but instead ‘ssss..’ as in…
