Peet Stop

Sometimes in life, you need to take a pause.

I was working from home today and was about to finish with the day. Then my eldest child called out to me, saying the youngest was about to pee. She’s doing potty training so she is not wearing any diapers. She does know how to go to the toilet by herself, but it was just one of those days when she doesn’t want to. The message that came to me was that she wanted me to come down to help.

And I did. Unfortunately she had wet the carpet (which is on a hard floor, luckily). Still, it took a good few hours to tidy up. There it went, my plan of finishing the day’s work early. Bumped into a neighbour directly after that, whom asked how was my day. “Tired,” I said. “It’s only been Monday!” she replied. Then I related this exact story.

I must say I am still tired while writing this, but today will be one of the days that I will remember in the years to come. This is the day I took a few hours off for a peet stop. Geddit? Peet instead of pit? Hehe sorry, it has been a long day, so please forgive my bad joke.

Thank you for reading.

These seems the buzzword these days; mental health and your emotional wellbeing. Like many things in life, I have conflicting feelings about it. My daughter was doing her homework when she asked, “What is adjective again?”. I know what adjectives are but I struggled to explain. “Is it the one with -ly at the end?” she asked again. I know those are adverbs, things that describe verbs. “I know about nouns, I know about verbs, but I don’t…
