Peet Stop

Sometimes in life, you need to take a pause.

I was working from home today and was about to finish with the day. Then my eldest child called out to me, saying the youngest was about to pee. She’s doing potty training so she is not wearing any diapers. She does know how to go to the toilet by herself, but it was just one of those days when she doesn’t want to. The message that came to me was that she wanted me to come down to help.

And I did. Unfortunately she had wet the carpet (which is on a hard floor, luckily). Still, it took a good few hours to tidy up. There it went, my plan of finishing the day’s work early. Bumped into a neighbour directly after that, whom asked how was my day. “Tired,” I said. “It’s only been Monday!” she replied. Then I related this exact story.

I must say I am still tired while writing this, but today will be one of the days that I will remember in the years to come. This is the day I took a few hours off for a peet stop. Geddit? Peet instead of pit? Hehe sorry, it has been a long day, so please forgive my bad joke.

Thank you for reading.

    It’s Okay To Look Stupid

It’s okay to look stupid, while learning. At least that what I tell myself most of the time , especially when the subject is tough. I like the feature in iCloud photos, where it reminds what happened on this day, year(s) ago. It showed some cute photos of your loved ones, or a trip you have forgotten about. It also reminded where you were a few years ago, not only in the literal sense, but also figuratively. For example it…

  • Commonality in Strangers

Went to a friend’s makan-makan (party) today and met a lot of undergrads, mostly in their early twenties. As we’re from Asian background, i.e. all are Malaysian, there is a bit of hierarchy between us and also reverence towards me and my friend, who are well in our 30s. Despite that though, the conversation does…
