Peet Stop

Sometimes in life, you need to take a pause.

I was working from home today and was about to finish with the day. Then my eldest child called out to me, saying the youngest was about to pee. She’s doing potty training so she is not wearing any diapers. She does know how to go to the toilet by herself, but it was just one of those days when she doesn’t want to. The message that came to me was that she wanted me to come down to help.

And I did. Unfortunately she had wet the carpet (which is on a hard floor, luckily). Still, it took a good few hours to tidy up. There it went, my plan of finishing the day’s work early. Bumped into a neighbour directly after that, whom asked how was my day. “Tired,” I said. “It’s only been Monday!” she replied. Then I related this exact story.

I must say I am still tired while writing this, but today will be one of the days that I will remember in the years to come. This is the day I took a few hours off for a peet stop. Geddit? Peet instead of pit? Hehe sorry, it has been a long day, so please forgive my bad joke.

Thank you for reading.

    Ponderous

I’ve been doing work recently and felt that the time allocated to me has been too short. It felt like there was not enough time to read all the background material and produce a result from it. But since the work was required soon, I changed my mindset and just set on producing a document,…

  • Prescription vs Proscription

It was the first time that I heard about the word proscription, and I thought it was related to people being pulled into the army, i.e. conscription. Apparently it is not. The formal definition is the action of forbidding something, or banning. The ‘pro’ in the word proscription made me think that it was something…
