Too Much Info

Recently I went for demonstration of a technical product for my company, and the audience was university students, a mixture of people that are either expert in the signalling field, or have no experience at all in it. Since the spectrum is very wide, the presentation aim to glance over almost all the aspects, including the technical details. I had to repeat the same presentation to 4 groups, and afterwards I realised that the questions are almost always about the why. One example of that is why did we developed the product.

I ponder now the reason why the questions “Why” was asked the most. My assumption is that after seeing too much unfamiliar technical details, the mind has a hard time following the logics and designs. So one wonders about the reason, why is there so much effort put into designing the product. That is my assumption.

No idea whether it’s true or not, but I’ll park my thoughts here and come back to it in the future.

Thank you for reading.

I attended a training recently where it involves a lot of drawings (technical ones) and logics. The trainer was very good as he explained most concepts and misunderstandings with examples and drawings. After answering rows of difficult questions he said, “Good questions. When I closed my eyes while you guys were asking, not because I…
