Boxes of Gadgets

I had to clear my store, or to be exact, the boiler room where I store most of my junks, because the boiler engineer had to come and inspect the state of the boiler. It’s a good thing.

But when I had to put the things back in, I had to face the fact that I had been hoarding things. I still have boxes for my gadgets, and other people in the house, such as the box for my phone. I kept that with the idea that it would add value when I resell them, but even before rebuked by my wife’s comment (at this rate, we will pass down all our gadgets to our kids, she said), I knew it was a weak argument.

So I made the plan to sell them on Ebay. Which in some prolonging the hoarding, but, there’s a but, I have set the date due of throwing them all away into the recycling bin, by the end of the week. That solves that.

What is not solved is the reason for the hoarding. I thinks it’s because the gadgets are too expensive and I bought beyond my means, that I justify to myself that I need to get my money back? Or maybe I admire how sleek the boxes are? I don’t know.

Anyway if you have the same problem and have an answer, I am glad to hear the argument.

Thank you for reading.

If you read Games of Thrones, or the Song of Ice and Fire to be exact, a common phrase is Winter is Coming, and the north is always depicted as somewhere cold and desolate. Even the undead/zombies are from the north. In some ways the north of England, which is Scotland, is cold (as a…

Went to a friend’s makan-makan (party) today and met a lot of undergrads, mostly in their early twenties. As we’re from Asian background, i.e. all are Malaysian, there is a bit of hierarchy between us and also reverence towards me and my friend, who are well in our 30s. Despite that though, the conversation does…

My wife and I were watching a clip about a parliamentary session, where the politician gave a very vague statement, something like, “We do not condone bad behaviour.” My wife complained that the speaker didn’t answer the question.
