Choosing to Keep It Simple

In most situations, keeping things simple is the best way to get things done. But when you look at great things, they are rarely simple. The modern marvel in your hands for example, the smartphone, is something that is far from simple. It is complex and complicated. But how does it get to that stage? It went through thousands of inventions and innovations, each of them might be simple on their own, but put together, compounded into a work of ‘art’.

But we in the modern world have become accustomed to complex systems and products. Even the processed food that only requires heating in the microwave, is another modern marvel. Someone who has never cooked before if he/she were one day to decide to learn to cook might want to start with something that he/she is familiar with but to replicate the recipe would be highly unlikely, especially when you’re just starting.

So what’s my point? My point is to start, one must actively choose to keep things simple. To start is already the big challenge, don’t throw complexity into the equation. Let the wheel spin first and the momentum grow, before adding more. Keep it simple.
