Some Days You Feel a Bit Stupid
I just came back from holiday last week, and as part of work, I just went on a few site visits this week. This visits were to other businesses section/departments, with different products, people and processes that are new to me. New terms, acronyms and all that made it very difficult for me to follow the topic that were discussed. Add to that the different ‘dialects’ made me feel sluggish these past few days. Also when I think about it, I have been speaking Malay while on holiday the few weeks before, it feels a bit slow in my mind to process English.
At the end of the day today aa I got back on the train on the way home from site, it feels a bit down trodden and beaten. It felt like I am a bit stupid.
Then as I was sitting on the train, a woman was trying to charge her phone and was patting all around the table (in the 4seats table arrangement), trying to find the USB port. I pointed at a sign saying it is beneath the seat. “Ahh okay, It’s been a long day,” she said, then proceeded to try and plug her USB cable into the 3-pin socket. When she realised her mistake, she just sat back in her seat and rested.
I guess I wasn’t the only one feeling a bit down. It’s not being stupid, it’s just has been a long day.
