I heard the sad news of my secondary school teacher who passed away yesterday, on Friday, while doing Haj in Makkah. In Islam, that is a sign of a good ending and although no one knows the predicament that a person will face in the next life, i.e. barzakh<\/em>, that is a good ending as far as one can say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My late teacher was a very unique teacher. He got into an accident while driving back from a school tournament, accompanying the students but while they took the bus, he drove. Somehow he got into a terrible accident and was in a comma for around 6 months. So my classmates and I didn’t have a physics teacher for 6 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He came back to teach after that with a pronounced limp, and that combined with his sharp questions, made him look really like Mad Eye Moody from Harry Potter. I mean that in a kind way as he was one of those teachers you know you couldn’t bluff, and he doesn’t suffer fools easily. He was very smart, and was not ashamed of it, and I remembered him saying how remember all the books he read, except one. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sensing that he wanted us to ask, we asked. He said he didn’t understand\/memorise the Quran (something along the line). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don’t know whether he managed to do that before the end of his life, but it seems that his good intentions brought him to a good end. I myself had the intention of going to meet him when I went back last year to Malaysia, and ask him about life (his and advice on mine), but that intention remains as intention now. C’est la vie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
