My father-in-law passed away about two years ago and my mother-in-law passed away not long after. They had been living near\/with my brother in law, who recently announced that they are storing or giving away some of the belongings to my late parents-in-laws. I saw some pictures of the belongings and led me to think of what would my children find when they go through to my stuff when I am dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Would I want them to learn how to live their lives well and good? Not really, because I would like them to learn that from me while I am alive, and also I don\u2019t think any material can tell or impart my views as well as how I can myself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Would I want them to go through all my stuffs and hobbies and reminisce how I spend my time with the stuff? Probably yes, if this would make my kids happy because it reminds of their moments spending time with me. And most likely I would\u2019ve not like it if they got angry or despised the stuff because it reminds me how I spent time with my hobbies instead of them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Would I want them to find valuable things that I hoarded and now (or then) have become so valuable that they could sell on eBay for a fortune? Not really because I doubt this would like happen. Nostalgic things or memorabilia are likely to make rich, and I don\u2019t really like people collecting things just for the sake of collecting or speculating.
So what would I like them to think about me then, as they go through my then-useless-stuff? Not too sure myself. But it would be great that they can remember me that I love them, and they feel the same, and all my stuff although they paint a picture of me, is not what I actually am or were. And please give them away if they are not useful to you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
