After dinner tonight, my son asked me the reason why Allah made us like this.
\u201cWhat do you mean like this?\u201d I asked.
\u201cYou know, like this,\u201d he said and raised his arm.
\u201dYou mean five fingers?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201dYes,\u201d he said. \u201cAllah could have made us like a blob and like an alien, and then if we meet a human, the human will be an alien.\u201d
\u201dYeah to an alien, we are the alien,\u201d my daughter chipped in.
\u201cWell, we are aliens to animals, because we are different,\u201d I said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201dYou would\u2019ve thought we are normal right!\u201d said my son. I was prepared to be offended as he was implying I am not normal! But I let him continue.
\u201cSometimes I lay and thought to myself, I am normal. Am I normal? I mean I am normal for me but I am different from others,\u201d he said. He continued with a few more musings but I don\u2019t remember them as I was smiling to myself, thinking what alien children have I raised?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My takeaway? Kids have some deep and unusual way of thinking, and you\u2019d never know what they would think of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
