I\u2019ve just created a reminder to take a photo of me and my wife every weekend. The title is a bit misleading as I\u2019ve only started doing this and I consider it not a habit yet. Let\u2019s see in 40 weeks (since I read somewhere that a habit becomes so after it has been done 40 times). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The impetus for this was a recent tweet about scheduling a date night with spouse every fortnight, which some people found offensive. I personally think that\u2019s a great idea but I don\u2019t have that luxury yet soo I\u2019ll settle with something smaller. Small habits after all leads to big changes and also bigger habits. Anyways I thought what would be quick but can have a very visible impact? I then remember a father taking a time lapse of her daughter (ir was it son?) and the result was amazing. I can\u2019t commit to daily so I settled for weekly. My wife and I always complained that there are not many pictures of us compared to our children in our phones, so I think this is a good way to alleviate that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another side benefit that I can see is that my wife needs to wear tudung(headscarf) for the picture so inadvertently she might as well get out of the house while at it. I\u2019m a bit of a recluse and like staying at home so this has the benefit of forcing me and my wife to go out and take a walk in the weekends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On a bit darker note, if (or more correctly, when) one of us passes away, a bunch of pictures of us would be a great way to look back. Nothing beats the presence of a person but a picture is great for the memory. My late brother passed away 5 years ago and I don\u2019t have many pictures of him but the ones I have, all taken impromptu, are still great reminder of him and his kindness. In a similar way, I hope when I pass away, my wife would be consoled and be reminded of the happy memories we had. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
